It involved a chip put in the key that the car read to determine if the key actually was supposed to start the car. This chip was read by a VATS module that was underneat the dash. If the VATs chip in the key was correct, the VATs module would then trip a relay that engaged the starter in the car.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
